"Directors of the first impression" are often the only employee a guest has contact with to base their experience.The annual Recognition of Service Excellence (R.O.S.E.) Awards honor individuals who serve customers on a daily basis and who continually go above and beyond the call of duty. It is these individuals who have the most contact with customers and influence the experience a guest has in the South Shore.
The awards honor individuals that treat customers as if they are a member of their own family and who consistently go the extra mile and demonstrate a tremendous dedication to their job.

This holiday season, The Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond will feature 6 animated displays featuring scenes from "A Christmas Story". The displays include: Higbee’s Department Store Window, Flick’s Tongue and the Triple Dog Dare, It’s a Major Award, Santa’s Mountain at Higbee’s, the Bumpus Hounds, and the Parker Living Room.
