June 8, 2009
Dear Air Show Supporter,
The 2009 Gary South Shore Air Show is quickly approaching. The dates are July 11-12. This is exciting news! In 2008, the air show attracted more than 700,000 visitors to Gary’s Lake Michigan shoreline. We hope to attract even more this year with new talent, including the a Sea Harrier. Also, the air show will continue to have FREE parking, FREE transportation and FREE admission.
The Gary South Shore Air Show has a price tag of more than $400,000. This amount includes the cost of transportation, air talent, fuel and logistical needs that are required to run this complex event. In addition to this hefty price tag, the Gary Jet Center and City of Gary contribute an estimated $150,000 of “in-kind” services to make this show a success. This includes the use of the hangar, logistics, police, fire, EMT, parks and general services. The air show would not be possible without the tireless efforts of the Gary Jet Center and City of Gary.
In order to continue this successful event, we are asking businesses in Northwest Indiana to contribute to the Gary South Shore Air Show. A donation of $500, $1,000 or $2,500 would help tremendously. To find out about how your organization can participate on a larger scale, please contact Adrienne Binder at 219/554-2175 or adrienne@southshorecva.com.
Sincerely,
