Due to the popularity of The South Shore Line Poster Exhibit: A Retrospective of Original Paintings, the 50 original paintings will again be on display at the Indiana Welcome Center from July 5 to August 6. The paintings on display are a part of the Millennium series campaign that commenced 20 years ago.

South Shore Line Posters were originally developed from 1925-1929 to promote tourism, boost ridership along the Train and entice passengers to relocate to the Region. The poster series was revitalized in the 1990s and include more than 100 posters depicting attractions, events and locations throughout the South Shore Region.

The exhibit, 20th Anniversary of the "Just Around the Corner" showcases the many attractions, industries and strengths in the communities along the South Shore Train Line.

Fifty of the original paintings of the Millennium series feature artists, Mitch Markovitz, Barb Labus, Alan Larkin, Bruce Cegur, Susan Holton, Fred Semmler, Neil Kienitz, Michael Chelich and Josh Rush will be displayed in the 6,500 square-foot exhibit hall.

Vintage and Millennium Series posters are available for purchase at the Indiana Welcome Center gift shop and online at The Indiana Welcome Center is conveniently located off of I-80/94 and Kennedy Avenue South. The exhibit is free and open to the public seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
