Summer Fun Along the South Shore

Submissions: May 08 – August 31, 2013
Voting: Always

The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is looking for summer fun photos! Specifically, candid shots of the beach, waterpark, festivals and parks showing people enjoying summer activities.

The Grand Prize is a $500 gift certificate to Best Buy and the runner ups received $100 towards custom framing at Lake Street Gallery.

Contestants warrant that the photo submission is original and that they are the sole owner and creator of the piece. Entries may not have been copyrighted or published previously in any media including books, magazines, newspapers, postcards, web sites, calendars or advertising/marketing materials. While contestant retains copyright and ownership of his/her original work, it is understood that all submissions become the property of South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority which has the legal right to use, publish, reproduce, alter and give legal consent to others to use the photograph.

2013 Photography Exhibit Theme - Reflections

The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is proud to announce the theme of their annual photography exhibit. 

 

Exhibit Theme

All images in the exhibit will be interpretations of a reflection. Definitions are as follows:

re·flec·tion noun

1. an image seen in a mirror or shiny surface

2. a visual expression resulting from careful consideration

3. a representation of one's own self


Eligibility

Photographs must also be geographically within the area of the South Shore, from Chicago to New Buffalo, Michigan.

Exhibit Notes

The exhibit will be on display August 15 to September 30, 2013 in the 6,500 sq. ft. W.F. Wellman Exhibit Hall located inside of the Indiana Welcome Center.
