Crown Point, the county seat, is the heart of Lake County. Filled with history, visitors will be amazed at the Victorian architecture that surrounds the town square. Travelers can visit the county landmarks such as the old courthouse built in 1878, the old sheriff's house, which once housed John Dilinger or can walk through the town to view the beautiful historic Victorian homes during the annual Garden Walk. There is fun for the whole family during the state's largest county fair located on the city's fairgrounds.

Don't miss the Tree/Tank Lighting Ceremonies in November!

On Friday, November 19th at 5:45 p.m., Crown Point remembers our troops during the holiday season while welcoming in the winter holiday with a commemorative Lighting Ceremony on the East side steps of the Old Courthouse. Then after the City will remember our troops in lighting the Tank Memorial Area (Goldsborough and South Main Street).  Join the City of Crown Point in welcoming the holiday season.
