Bike Trails

Bike MapNorthwest Indiana and parts of Eastern Illinois contain more than 70 miles of paved, off-road trails. Many of the trail systems run along abandoned railroad tracks and highlight the rich ecological diversity that make up the South Shore region.  The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission recently unveiled a comprehensive Bike Trail Map which includes current and future bike trails, parking locations and major roads.
Request a Bike Trail Map by calling 800-ALL-LAKE or stop by the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond. The Welcome Center is conveniently located next to the Erie Lackawanna Trail and Little Calumet Levee Trail.  To download a copy of the Northwest Indiana Bike Map, visit http://www.nirpc.org/.
