2006 Lake County CVB Grant Seminar
Hammond - January 4, 2005 - The Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau will be holding its first Grant Seminar on Monday, January 23 from 2pm to 3:30pm at the Indiana Welcome Center located at 7770 Corinne Drive in Hammond.
At the October 26th board meeting LCCVB President/CEO, Speros A. Batistatos, requested the Board of Directors suspend the grant program pending review and restructuring. With restructuring now complete, the new program requires any organization requesting matching grant monies for marketing or promotion attend a grant training workshop.
A grant workshop will be held twice a year and not-for-profit organizations must attend at least one seminar to be eligible to submit a grant for consideration. The second seminar will be held on Monday, June 19th, at the Indiana Welcome Center.
The workshop will help to further communicate and educate potential recipients on the mission of the LCCVB, and communicate the annual marketing goals of the organization. It will also help candidates better understand the rules and criteria for application, and also set a time frame for accepting proposals.
If a not-for-profit organization would like to attend the first seminar, they should contact the Bureau at (219) 989-7770 by Friday, January 19.
The Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau is a sales and marketing organization that leads and supports the hospitality industry through the marketing and development of the county.
