The Indiana Office of Tourism Development and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture held a workshop June 21st to help those interested in agritourism become more familiar with both agriculture and tourism. The focus of the workshop was to help expand farms beyond the ordinary and into something more resourceful to promote tourism.
The workshop was held at County Line Orchard, which has been an agritourism hotspot in Lake County for years. The orchard features new attractions and activities each year to lure in visitors and residents. These are the ideas that make agritourism successful for working farms.
If you missed out on the last workshop, catch the next one on Wednesday, August 3 at Freeman Family Farms in Bloomington. The workshop will be held from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. To register or for more information contact: Four Rivers RD&D at (812) 354-6808 ext. 5.
