According to Tony Ramirez, Northwest District Trustee of the Indiana State FOP, the organization hosts events like the softball tournament in order to raise money for numerous charitable organizations and efforts.
"When we do these events, we put it back into the community. We want to be there for other organizations," said Ramirez. Groups and organizations that have received support from the FOP include youth league teams, senior league teams and the Special Olympics. The FOP also prepares holiday food baskets for the underprivileged.
