Griffith's Central Park will transform into a three-day blues festival with sixteen blues bands, more than a dozen BBQ vendors and craft beer on June 30, July 1 and 2. The Broad Street Blues Festival kicks off June 30 at 5:00 p.m. and continues July 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and July 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
A BBQ Cook-Off will take place on Saturday, July 1 at 3:00 p.m. Special guest judges for the cook-off include Dan Hampton and Steve McMichael from the 1985 Superbowl Champion Chicago Bears and Emma Mac, 93WXRT On-Air Personality.
Blues artists include Smiley Tillman Band featuring Kate Moss, Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, Joanna Connor, Queen of the Blues Rock Guitar and Grammy Award-Winning Bobby Rush.
Rick Ryfa, Griffith Town Council President said, "We are excited to bring an additional day to the blues festival; we've added a BBQ Cook-Off and we'll continue to bring nationally-known blues artists to Griffith for this annual event."
The festival will take place in the grassy area of Central Park located a few blocks from Downtown Griffith at 600 N. Broad Street. Broad Street Blues and BBQ Festival offers free admission and is sponsored by Heineken Beer.
