The Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will host the Halloween-themed Second Saturday event, Spooky Family Science, on Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The event includes fun science experiments, a planetarium show and a laser light show. Cost to attend is $10 for adults and $7 for children.

The laser light show, Fright Light Laser, will feature laser art set to spooky, Halloween classics by artists such as Michael Jackson, Will Smith, Alice Cooper and more.

The October planetarium show will be South Shore Skies and Black Holes: Journey to the Unknown. How are black holes made? Is Earth in danger of being pulled into a black hole? Attendees will discover the answers to these questions and more during the planetarium show.

Those not wishing to participate in the Spooky Family Science event may purchase tickets to either the laser show or planetarium show at $5 for adults and $3 for children. A special package including both shows is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

Individual planetarium shows begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Individual laser shows begin at 3:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
