County Line Orchard Wins National Award

Hammond, IN – February 13, 2006 – County Line Orchard, located in Hobart, won the title of Farm Market of the Year at the North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA) Annual Conference this past January.

David and Bonnie McAfee, owners of the County Line Orchard, were proud to receive this prestigious award and stated, “Our success is in part due to our ‘orchard family’; those employees and guests that return year after year”.

County Line Orchard is one of more than 600 farms belonging to NAFDMA, a wonderful asset for the small family farmer; and understands that a farm is more than just a business.

David and Bonnie McAfee started County Line Orchard in 1988. The farm began as a simple U-pick operation that has evolved over the years. The orchard has added children’s attractions, an 8-acre corn MAiZE ™, haunted trails, and hayrides. The County Line Orchard is open daily during apple picking season in September and October.
