Cruisin' through The Times, an exhibit featuring a colorful display of antique and classic cars, each paired with The Times' region headlines from the year the car was manufactured, will close at the Indiana Welcome Center on Thursday, April 30.

Exhibit visitors can also view the ‘Chair'ish the Children exhibit, a display of 77 child-size chairs decorated to represent what is means to cherish our community's children. The chairs will be on display through Wednesday, April 29.

On April 29, a special reception for ‘Chair'ish the Children will be hosted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. During the reception, the one-of-a-kind chairs will be auctioned, with proceeds benefitting Prevent Child Abuse Lake County to assist with future child abuse prevention programming. Light refreshments will be served and a suggested donation of $5 will be accepted at the door.

The Indiana Welcome Center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located at 7770 Corinne Drive, Hammond, Indiana 46323. For more information on Cruisin' through The Times or ‘Chair'ish the Children, contact the Indiana Welcome Center at 219-989-7979 or visit
