The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority will begin demolition for the new John Dillinger Museum in the northeast quadrant of the lower level of the Crown Point Courthouse at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Speros A. Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore CVA, and Katie Holderby, Executive Vice President/Chief Projects Officer, will be available at 8:30 a.m. to answer questions regarding the move of the museum.

The museum is anticipated to open on March 3, 2015, the 81st anniversary of the day Dillinger escaped from the Crown Point jail, and will take visitors on an interactive, historical adventure through the life and times of John Dillinger and other gangsters of the 1930s depression era. Through the stories of the infamous gangsters, visitors also learn of the rise of the FBI and advancements made in crime fighting technology.
