The new Fairfield Inn & Suites Merrillville officially unveiled its updated look to the public yesterday. A comprehensive re-branding investment at the property was in line with Marriott International’s current initiative to evolve the Fairfield Inn brand. The effort has resulted in a complete upgrade to all guest rooms including the addition of 16 two-bay suites with stylish new décor, plus significant enhancements to the hotel’s lobby, breakfast area and main entrance grounds. Managed by White Lodging Services, the hotel is located at 8275 Georgia Avenue, at the southwest corner of I-65 and US-30.

White Lodging opened the Fairfield Inn Merrillville in 1990, serving as Marriott International’s first franchise Fairfield Inn agreement and the first partnership for both companies. The venture proved to be the start of a successful relationship as White Lodging Services currently manages more than 90 Marriott brand hotels in thirteen states. “We were the first to introduce the Fairfield Inn brand to the area and are excited to unveil its new look with fresh and contemporary changes that are sure to satisfy any traveler,” stated Regional Vice President Scott Blalock. “Our guests will be delighted to find quality guestrooms and suites at an affordable price.”

Each of the hotel’s 112 newly-designed guest rooms feature Marriott’s updated, more luxurious bedding with plusher mattresses, softer sheets, an abundance of pillows, and a fresh clean new look. Additional in-room amenities include free high speed internet access, new furniture including work desk and ergonomic desk chair, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker, and two phones. Sixteen signature “king suites” offer separate living and sleeping areas, a mini-refrigerator and microwave, and a state-of-the-art entertainment unit featuring 30” television and stereo/cd system.

Guests will be treated to a warm welcome in the new lobby area that includes a cozy sitting area complete with a fireplace and 42” plasma television. Two business stations located off the lobby offer complimentary high speed internet access. Other travel-friendly services and amenities offered by the hotel can be seen throughout including the redesigned breakfast area, fully furnished with brand new chairs and tables, serving Fairfield Inn’s enhanced new breakfast buffet. An outdoor heated pool with new patio furniture, the addition of a new fitness room with cardio equipment, free parking, and fresh hot coffee and tea available 24 hours are additional amenities found at the hotel.

The location of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Merrillville offers guests convenient access to an abundance of diverse restaurants as well as easy access to Star Plaza Theatre, Westfield Shopping Center, Deep River Waterpark, the U.S. Steel Yard, home of the Gary Southshore Railcats, and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
