HAMMOND – The Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and FAME (The Foundation for Art & Music in Elementary Education) will present the Fusion of Concert Colors 2008 exhibit at the IndianaWelcomeCenter Friday, January 11th through Sunday, January 13th.
According to the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, “students learn about music and a composer, then paint, draw or sketch what the music inspires them to see.” The music selections for the 2008 project were Appalachian Spring Orchestral Suite (Part 4) by Aaron Copland and La Mer, Third Movement: Dialogue of the Wind and Waves by Claude Debussy.
One-hundred and twenty-five pieces of artwork will be on display in the W.F. Wellman Exhibit Hall at 7770 Corinne Drive in Hammond, IN. The top 5 submitted from each participating school have been chosen to be displayed. Also on display are the 2008 Grand Prize Winner, First Runner-ups and Second Runner-ups (for each music selection).
