Gayety's Chocolates and Ice Cream will be hosting a grand reopening at the Schererville location on Sunday, Feb. 9. The location, previously a dealer location, will now be owned and operated by the Gayety's corporation/family.

"We hope to bring the ‘family flavor' to our Schererville customers and provide them with exceptional service and wonderful premium homemade ice cream, gourmet hand-dipped chocolates and Designer Dessert cupcakes," said Jim Flessor, owner of Gayety's. "I think they'll like it."

Established in Chicago in 1920, Gayety's is a third generation family-owned and operated ice cream parlor and chocolate shoppe. Visitors can expect gourmet hand-dipped chocolates, premium homemade ice cream, homemade ice cream toppings (i.e. hot fudge, caramel, fresh strawberries, etc.) and a delicious selection of gifts for Valentine's Day. Gayety's also carries cupcakes from Designer Desserts, a bakery specializing in custom cakes and cupcakes in Valparaiso.

The grand reopening ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. In addition to a balloon release, visitors' children may get their face painted. The Gayety's Chocolate and Ice Cream shop in Schererville is located at 36 U.S. 41. Visitors can also experience the Gayety's treats at 3306 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL 60438.
