The Indiana Mother Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club will be hosting their annual Mardi Gras Gala at Avalon Manor, 3550 U.S. 30 in Merrillville, on Saturday, March 7.

Olivia Taylor, committee member, explained that the event serves as a fundraiser so the organization may give out scholarships, create food baskets and do work within the community. Event planners expect more than 150 attendees, with organization members coming from Indianapolis, Michigan, Illinois and Kentucky.

The Mardi Gras Gala is from 6 p.m. to midnight and is open to the public. Tickets cost $65 per person and include a meet and greet event with the organization at Fairfield Inn & Suites, 8275 Georgia Street in Merrillville, on Friday, March 5, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. The gala will be Mardi Gras and masquerade themed.
