Indiana Welcome Center Billboard Wins Award

“Can’t hold it” billboard wins Silver Communicator Award


Hammond, IN – The International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) have recently announced winners for the 2008 Communicator Awards and among them was the Westbound I-80/94 billboard for the Indiana Welcome Center. The billboard is titled “Can’t hold it” and was created by the Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

            “The concept behind the message is simple, restrooms are the major reason travelers stop at welcome centers and rest areas. We are proud that we have the best restrooms in Indiana,” stated Andrea Rivera, Graphic Designer for the LCCVB. 

            The Communicator Awards is the leading international creative awards program honoring creative excellence for communication professionals. The annual competition honors the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. The judges received more than 8,500 entries from around the world for the 2008 competition. “The incredible quality and diversity of this year’s entries was an inspiration to the academy and all of our judges. We are proud to honor the best in creativity and execution for the foremost communications professionals in the business,” noted Linda Day, Director of the IAVA.
