The Indiana Welcome Center's annual exhibit, "A Christmas Story" Comes Home, kicks off the fun with "A Major Event" on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The event will include live entertainment and viewings of the holiday classic "A Christmas Story" in the theatre at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Attendees may purchase fudge puppies, made to their liking, to enjoy while viewing the six animated window scenes created based on iconic scenes from the movie in the exhibit hall. Additionally, visitors may vote on their favorite trees that are decorated by local businesses and organizations. Santa will be atop his mountain from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to take photos for $5 each. A scavenger hunt and games of bingo are free to play, and attendees can decorate cookies for $2 or create crafts for $1. Kids may also take a ride on the train for $1.

The "A Christmas Story" Comes Home exhibit, which is presented in agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, will run through Sunday, Jan. 5. The Indiana Welcome Center is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located at the intersection of I-80/94 and Kennedy Avenue South in Hammond.
