Lake County CVB’s CFO Receives Award

Indianapolis Janis Flutka, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau has been selected by the Indiana CPA Society as the recipient of the 2006 Outstanding CPA in Government Award. Flutka will be honored for her contribution and dedication to the CPA profession at the special event on Friday, November 3rd in Indianapolis.

The award is presented to a Society member working in federal, state or local government who has made significant contributions to increase effectiveness and efficiency of government. The award represents the top award given to the more than 100 INCPAS members in government each year.

Victor DeMeyer, Chairman of the LCCVB Board of Directors commented, “This award signifies the professional direction of the Bureau and is an example of the talented team that was put into place to run the 2nd largest CVB in the state.”

Flutka has more than 15 years of experience as a Financial Manager and Internal Auditor in the private sector and was previously an elected Clerk-Treasurer and was appointed Chief Deputy Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Crown Point. She has also been CPA certified for 13 years and is a member of the Indiana CPA Society since 1993.

INCPAS serves as the statewide professional association of CPAs. Nearly 7,000 CPAs in public practice, business, government and education are members of the Society, along with another 1,000 students, CPA candidates, associates and affiliates. INCPAS functions as an advocated for the profession through education, public awareness, government relations and promotion of high ethical standards.
