On Friday, Sept. 11, the festival will celebrate opening ceremonies at 4:15 p.m., followed by the Lil' King and Queen Crowning at 4:30 p.m. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the motivational drummer group, Sheltered Reality, will take to the stage.
The Little Cousin Jasper parade will step off at noon on Saturday, Sept. 12. Monticello's "Taylor Swift," Clarissa Luse, will perform at 6 p.m., and Indiana's very own country singer Corey Cox will take the stage at 7 p.m.
Registration for the annual Little Cousin Jasper 5K Run/Walk will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, with the race beginning at 8 a.m. Registration costs $20 per participant. Awards and door prizes will be given at the end of the race.
The third annual Duck Derby will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13. Hundreds of plastic ducks, sold for $5 each, will be placed in the river at the Washington Street bridge. The first three ducks to finish the course will win their owners a cash prize - $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place. All proceeds for the Duck Derby go to the Little Cousin Jasper Festival.
Festival attendees can enjoy a live music performance by Jessie Brown beginning 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13.
The Little Cousin Jasper Festival will also include fine arts and crafts vendors, a variety of festival fare, and more. Additional activities during the festival include a ventriloquist show, a pizza-eating contest, kids' activities, a beef and noodles dinner, a fish fry and more.
