Local Event Planners Invited to Attend Festival Seminar

HAMMOND – Join guest speaker Toni Meyer on Monday, January 28th from 1:30pm – 4:00pm at the Indiana Welcome Center for the annual Festival/Event Seminar hosted by the Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Meyer, 50th Anniversary Director and Parade Director of the 500 Festival in Indianapolis, will provide insight on her experiences of organizing a large event. The 500 Festival was created in 1957 to celebrate the greatest race in the world (Indianapolis 500) and has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation.  More than 425,000 people participated last year throughout the month of May.

Additional topics that will be discussed at the seminar include sponsorships, volunteers, grants, marketing/advertising and partnership opportunities.

The Festival/Event Seminar is combined this winter with the Annual Grant Seminar. Local not-for-profit organizations seeking matching grant monies must attend one Grant Seminar annually.

Interested parties may RSVP to Krystle Simmons at (219) 989-7770 or krystle@lakecountycvb.com.
