Crown Point, Ind. (July 17, 2018) – Nearly 6,500 athletes, families and coaches will descend upon Northwest Indiana for the 2018 National Softball Association Girls Fast Pitch North/Central “B” and “C” World Series July 25-29. The tournament will take place at fields throughout the South Shore including Crown Point, Highland, Hobart, Munster, LaPorte, Michigan City and Portage. Teams will come from as far away as Canada, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa.

More than 160 teams will compete in this year’s NSA World Series. Opening Ceremonies are from 6-9 p.m. at Festival Park in Hobart on July 25. There will be a parade, DJ and complete block party of entertainment for the teams, coaches and family and friends.

“We’re excited to showcase our revitalized downtown during the parade, and Festival Park along Lake George is a perfect fit for a block party,” said Nicole Lopez, events director for the city of Hobart.

Games will begin at 8:00 a.m. at all locations from July 26-29. The tournament will continue through July 30 and 31 if needed (due to inclement weather). For the full schedule of game day events and tournament updates, visit

When combined with other expenditures like commuting, field rentals, and concessions and maintenance workers, this year’s NSA World Series creates an estimated economic impact of $1 million for Northwest Indiana.
