This year's convention aims to attract more than 2,400 attendees to Merrillville from visitors across the nation.
"We're creating a Ramencon family. Where else can you get more than 2,000 people to jump in front of a bullet for you? I love the fact that you can't walk 20 feet without seeing a good friend that wants to ask, ‘How have you been?'" said Chris Kaemerer, con-chair. Ramencon keeps growing year after year by adding interesting and new events to the convention.
Special events coming to this year's Ramencon include autograph sessions with J. Michael Tatum, Jon St. John, Ellyn Stern and Richard Epcar, voice actors; appearances by Mandalorian Mercs Taakure Clan and Ryzen Xia, super guests; artist panels; anime and movie screenings; a cosplay music video contest; a water balloon and water gun splash battle; extreme laser tag; a cosplay fashion show; music entertainment by DJ Kagamine, Rice Mage, Froknight and Mu Meux; games; and more.
In addition to the special events, attendees can explore vendor offerings in the Artist Alley and Dealer's Room for anime merchandise, DVDs, manga (comic book version of anime), and more.
"We wanted to bring Ramencon to Northwest Indiana to make a cost effective convention that actually cares about its attendees," said Kaemerer.
Interested individuals can attend the convention by registering at the door. Single-day registration for Friday and Saturday costs $40, single-day registration on Sunday costs $25 and attendees can purchase three-day badges for $40.
