Explore 22-acres of Serenity Springs during the 2nd annual Sip and Stroll open house from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 11 in LaPorte. The free 21 and older event offers visitors multiple live acts for entertainment, craft beer and wine samples from local breweries and wineries and more than ten on-site food vendors. VIP tickets will be available on the day of the event for $20, which extend the festivities until 9 p.m. for all ticket holders.

Attendees will be able to roam the grounds during the event for free with multiple cabins opened for visitors to examine. A special fishing tips and tricks session will be offered to guests by Bass Pro fisherman, Greg Miller."Most people have a misconception about us and are surprised at how much the property has to offer," said Laura Ostergren, owner of Serenity Springs.

Live entertainment will be spread throughout the grounds during the day and include - The Violin Monster, NAWTY, Jim Post and Keenan Baxter among others. Food vendors participating include - Lulu's Licks; Cool Runnings Jamaican Restaurant; Scartozzi's Trattoria; Big Daddy's BBQ; Hot Diggity Dawg; Hungry, INC and many more.

Breweries participating in the event include - Burn ‘Em Brewing; Figure 8 Brewing; Hunter's Brewing; Indiana Whiskey; and Twisted K-8 Brewing. Glasses of wine will be offered by Shady Creek Winery from Michigan City, Ind., and the Round Barn Winery from Baroda, Mich. Individual glasses cost $5 each.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "Let's paint the Sip and Stroll pink. I'd like to see visitors wearing as much pink as possible to support those affected by breast cancer," Ostergren said.
