Hammond, Ind. (December 5, 2018) – Santa has announced he will make a special trip to the Indiana Welcome Center on Friday, December 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for children with autism or other special needs. The Indiana Welcome Center will be sensory friendly and accessible. Santa will be positioned off of “Santa’s Mountain” to easily accommodate both children and adults.
Families and children are invited to write letters to Santa, make crafts, gaze at the lighted Christmas trees and enjoy the exhibit, “A Christmas Story” Comes Home. This year’s event is sponsored by Top Soccer in Hobart and through their generous contribution, families can each enjoy one free printed photograph.
“We’re excited to bring this experience to families with children with special needs. We understand visiting during a busy weekend can be overwhelming for a number of families,” said Danielle Sparavalo, Special Events Manager. “We want to give special meaning to the holidays for every person that visits the exhibit,” she continued.
