6th Annual Trash to Treasure Exhibit Opens

Hammond The exhibit that features recycled materials as art will be on display at the Indiana Welcome Center until August 20th. Trash to Treasure VI features more than 200 pieces from approximately 60 artists in the W.F. Wellman Exhibit Hall at I-80/94 and Kennedy Avenue south.

The exhibit, sponsored by Lake County Solid Waste Management District and the Lake County CVB, pays tribute to the beauty of the environment and highlights the importance of reusing and recycling. Trash to Treasure VI is free of charge and consists of found and recycled objects such as scrap metal, bowling balls, and aluminum cans.

An opening reception and “meet the artist” will be held at the Indiana Welcome Center on Thursday, July 27th from 5:30 to 8:00pm. Live music will be provided by Rhythm Futur as well as light refreshments.
