The show will feature all gauges of model and toy trains, with featured brands including Lionel, American Flyer, Marx, HO and more. This is the second year the Thanksgiving Train Show has been hosted in the region. More than 1,000 attendees are expected to visit; purchase, learn and enjoy toy and model trains in 2015. Exhibitors will come from Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and as far away as California.
According to show organizer Joe Algozzini, the show provides an educational opportunity for train collectors, operators, and novices to learn about manufacturing, creating and designing custom pieces and insuring collectibles. Algozzini said, "Attendees are encouraged to ask questions."
Children are welcome and Santa will be available for photos from noon to 1:00 p.m. both days. The Lake County Fairgrounds are located at 889 S. Court St. in Crown Point.
