WHITE LODGING SERVICES APPOINTS
TWO NEW REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENTS
Merrillville, IN (May 11, 2006) – White Lodging Services has announced the appointments of Scott Blalock and Lucie Manley as regional vice presidents of operations for the company. In line with the company’s recent realignment of its organizational structure, Blalock will oversee properties located in the Chicago area including downtown, at Midway Airport and in surrounding suburbs, as well as hotels in northwest Indiana. Manley will take on responsibility for White Lodging properties located throughout Colorado and in Utah.
“The team at White Lodging Services is very proud to have individuals of this caliber join the family,” stated Senior Vice President Jon Peck. “Blalock and Manley both bring a broad background of operations and marketing in multiple brands and destinations to regions that are in high growth modes. Their experience will translate into strong support and improved performance in their respective regions.”
Scott Blalock, an 18 year veteran with Marriott International, has held a variety of diverse positions, most recently general manager of Marriott Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in California. His background includes regional vice president of Lodging Management for Marriott’s South Central region, and numerous positions both in sales and room operations including general manager of the Houston Marriott Greenspoint and of the Courtyard Dallas Northwest, where the hotel received the President’s Award for guest service scores. Blalock holds a bachelor degree of business administration in marketing from the Southwest Texas State University.
Lucie Manley has spent the last 25 years with Marriott International, coming to White Lodging from her role as area general manager for North San Diego County where she was responsible for ten hotels in addition to holding the general manager position for the San Diego Marriott Del Mar. Her extensive experience includes additional regional and full service general manager positions, a background in food and beverage, and sales and marketing experience that includes the position of director of marketing for the Marriott Marco Island. Prior to her move to White Lodging, she served as a board member for the North County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and as chairman for the Western Region Diversity Council.
White Lodging’s organizational re-structuring late last year included the formation of two divisions – eastern and western – each led by a senior vice president of operations. The eastern division office is based in Indianapolis, where the company operates numerous Marriott brand hotels including the 615-room Marriott Indianapolis Downtown; the western division office is located in Austin, Texas, where the company manages 13 hotels currently and will be opening the combined 449 room Residence Inn and Courtyard development downtown later this summer. The objective of the company’s recent reorganization was to provide better support to operations in the field, prepare for accelerated growth in number of hotels, and enhance owner communication. Blalock and Manley fill two of the five regional vice president positions in the new structure, each who play an active role in the success of the hotels within their region.
