Masks are required on public transportation, and in LaPorte Lake Counties as well as on national park and state government properties, both inside buildings and in outdoor spaces where you cannot socially distance. Most businesses still require masks and we suggest calling ahead or checking online for details regarding each business’s policy.

Join us for a celebratory 5k and kids 1k in honor of "Dia De Los Muertos" also know as "Day of The Dead".

Day of the Dead focuses on celebrating the memories of loved ones that have passed on and celebrated during the chilly days of October 31st to November 2. Even though this coincides with the Catholic holiday called All Soul's & All Saint’s Day, it has been combined this with ancient beliefs of honoring deceased loved ones. It's believed that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31, and the spirits of all deceased (angelitos) are allowed to reunite with their families and leave on November 2.

Traditions include face painting to resemble skulls, decorating altars with bright orange marigold flowers, candles, photos and other memorabilia. There will be an official Runners Altar for participants to decorate prior to running the race. Please remember to take decorations with you once prior to leaving the race.

You can walk or run whatever pace you choose during the 5k event.

Registration is FREE however all participants MUST register.
