Masks are required on public transportation, and in LaPorte Lake Counties as well as on national park and state government properties, both inside buildings and in outdoor spaces where you cannot socially distance. Most businesses still require masks and we suggest calling ahead or checking online for details regarding each business’s policy.

This event is a part of our History Comes Alive Weekend. Meet the naturalist at the Campground Shelter for a trek through the dunes and a meeting with the early French fur traders that inhabited this area nearly 200 years ago! Bring your beaver pelt or borrow one of ours!

This a free event after paying our State Park gate fee of $7 in-state/ $12 out-of state vehicles.

Thanks to the Ouiatenon Brigade for helping lead this fun event! You can also visit the on the beach east of the pavilion as they re-enact the fur-trading era during the following hours Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. & Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
