Symphony Concert in the Dunes

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is again bringing the Northwest Indiana Symphony to West Beach on Friday, August 3rd, at 7:30 p.m. for a free concert with the magnificent dunes as the backdrop. Concert sponsors are Friends of Indiana Dunes, Inc., Dunes National Park Association and Eastern National Parks Book Store.
Enjoy the 40 piece symphony orchestra under the direction of Conductor Kirk Muspratt for a two hour performance of music. The stage will be set up in the southwest parking lot at West Beach. Limited seating is available near the stage; therefore, visitors are encouraged to bring folding chairs. Several food vendors will be serving a variety of dinner items or participants can bring a picnic dinner. Fee collection at West Beach will cease at 5 p.m. that day. Please carpool if possible.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be relocated to the Chesterton High School Auditorium. Information concerning inclement weather will be posted at the entrance to West Beach, on the park’s website at www.nps.gov/indu, and on the park’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/IndianaDunesNL.

The National Lakeshore is hosting this free concert of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Dunes Learning Center, the park’s non-profit education partner which operates a residential environmental education facility within the park.
