Jasper County, Indiana

Jasper County is home to one of Indiana's greatest wildlife spectacles at Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area. Each fall, tens of thousands of sandhill cranes visit Jasper-Pulaski's shallow marshes on their southward migration. Although the cranes can be seen all over the surrounding area, the best place to marvel at this natural phenomenon is from Jasper-Pulaski’s viewing platforms, overlooking Goose Pasture.

Jasper County offers peaceful landscapes and small and friendly towns. Schedule your tee-time at the beautiful Sandy Pines Golf Club in DeMotte or Curtis Creek Country Club in Rensselaer. Relax with a glass of Hoosier wine at Carpenter Creek Cellars and enjoy live music during the summer months. Stroll through the Lillian Fendig Gallery to enjoy beautiful works of art. Bring your friends out for a special hunting or fishing trip or spend the day shooting sporting clay, skeet or trap at the Oakwood Gun Club. Find live entertainment and special events at eMbers Venue in Rensselaer.

Tour a unique agricultural venture, JT Shrimp LLC, and learn how shrimp are raised in a closed salt-water system, then take some shrimp home for a delicious and healthy meal. Stop by Yesteryear's Meats and Specialty Shoppe for an amazing selection of top quality meats, home-cooked meals and unique food items. Spend a fun and relaxing weekend camping at Caboose Lake Campground playing in the Summer Beach Family Fun Zone or fishing in the 20-acre lake.

Jasper County has an abundance of hometown festivals to choose from, as well as the popular Jasper County Fair. Visit Remington’s Fountain Park Chautauqua or Water Tower Days for a relaxing day of fun. After enjoying the annual parade, watch wooden-shoe dancing and sample Banket or Oliebollen, traditional Dutch foods, at the Touch of Dutch festival in DeMotte. The Little Cousin Jasper Festival and Oktoberfest will delight young and old.

Spend the day at one of Jasper County’s farmers' markets or u-pick farms and return home with a delicious array of farm-fresh produce. Blueberries flourish in the northern part of the county. Fritts Berry Farm, VanKley’s Blueberries and Zylstra’s Blueberries are just a few of the local u-pick farms that feature these plump, juicy favorites. Wander the fields of Christmas trees at Kingma Christmas Tree Farm and cut down that special tree to decorate your home for the holidays. In the summer and fall check out the farmers' markets in DeMotte and Rensselaer to bring home some yummy country treats.

Jasper County promises a delightful visit for you and your family.
