Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets offer 120 outlet stores for the discriminating shopper, such as Calvin Klein, Le Creuset, Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade, Carter's, Adidas, Nike, Express and Beef Jerky Outlet. Michigan City also has a wide variety of locally owned and nationally known stores, as well as the Antique Market.

Experience the Outdoors

Outdoor activities abound with Michigan City's beaches, parks and trails. Washington Park and Zoo features a beautiful beach, charming lakefront park and a wonderful zoo. Explore Lake Michgian with Harbor Country Adventures aboard a high-speed boat or a relaxing cruise ship.

Like to fish? Schedule a fishing charter with Fin Fire, Fire Drill, Fisher of Men or Tightline Fishing Charters. Bicyclists and hikers will appreciate the Calumet Bike Trail and the Heron Rookery Trail, both of which are excellent spots for birding and wildlife watching. Beach lovers will soak up the sun at Central Avenue Beach, part of the Indiana Dunes National Park.

Gardening enthusiasts can wander the Friendship Botanic Gardens or find a variety of produce at one of the many local fruit farms and vegetable stands. Golfers will enjoy hitting the links at Michigan City Municipal Golf's North Course and South Course.

More Things to Do

History buffs can learn about the region at Barker Mansion, The Great Lake Museum of Military History and the Old Lighthouse Museum. Blue Chip Casino provides excellent gaming opportunities, a variety of delicious restaurants and year-round entertainment.
