Stuck at home during this COVID-19 pandemic lockdown makes it difficult to keep yourself and your family busy. To help with that, we've pulled together some fun at home activities from stores, attractions and other businesses across the Region. We have also listed virtual events you can join in from home.

Sweet Home Indiana crafts

Northwest Indiana shops are finding new ways to connect to their customers. Sweet Home Indiana gift store in St. John has been posting videos on facebook showing how to creating crafts using items around your house. You can also order craft kits as well as other items and pick them up curbside.

Activities from Lubeznik

Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City has a number of videos to keep you busy and in touch with your artistic side. Education director Hannah Hammond-Hagman has art activities you can do at home. Lubeznik also has virtual exhibit tours as well as a few studio tours from local artists.

Dunes Learning Center now has a series of videos where Naturalist Nate, aka “Neature Nate”, shows some of the ways you can explore, play and enjoy nature in your neighborhood! They also have projects finding art in nature, a video series on the Search for Sandsquatch, and a collection of more distance learning activities.

Masks for NWI Healthcare Workers

If you're good at sewing, you can keep busy and help your community by making masks. The facebook group, Masks for NWI Healthcare Workers, is a generous group of seamstresses in the Region sewing masks and distributing them where they are needed. They also have instructions on how to put one together, materials and more on their website nwimasks.com
