House Bill 1002
The South Shore CVA, through its membership and representation with the Northwest Indiana Forum, is supporting House Bill 1002 (Civil Immunity Related to COVID-19). Working on behalf of the industry, we believe that employer liability protections are necessary for employers who have followed health guidelines to feel the protection from the state in order to open and remain open. Small Business Restart Fund
Through this program, eligible Indiana small businesses can seek reimbursement for qualified business expenses, such as rent/mortgage payments, utilities, lease payments for real or personal property and safety investments such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and infrastructure improvements. Learn more here.

Travel in the New Normal - How to Prepare your Business for Visitors
U.S. Travel Association has prepared industry guidance for promoting the health and safety of all travelers. The guide was developed based on Centers for Disease Control and the White House's "Opening Up America Again." Read it here.

Hotel and Lodging Safe Stay Initiative
AHLA, American Hotel and Lodging Association, has released industry-wide hotel cleaning standards through the "Stay Safe" initiative. Read it here.

Restaurant Reopening Guidelines
The National Restaurant Association assembled experts from the FDA, academia and the public health sector to develop a set of opening and operating guidelines to help restaurants return to full operation safely. Read it here.

Businesses - Please Take This Survey
Lt. Gov. Crouch recognizes the importance of the travel and leisure industry and is working with the Indiana Destination Development Corporation to map out a path forward that will, "assist our statewide partners in their recovery planning." In order to accomplish this, the State has partnered together with Rockport Analytics to provide several COVID-19 monitoring and measurement tools.

Lake Area United Way

Lake Area United Way is providing $250,000 specifically to help hospitality workers in Lake County, Indiana, who are not working due to COVID­19, to assist with rent or mortgage, utilities, gasoline or groceries. They also have mortgage payment assistance. You can learn more about that here.

In a partnership with Lake Area United Way and the South Shore CVA, the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Gary will facilitate the disbursement of the COVID­19 Community Economic Relief Funds for displaced hospitality workers who live in Lake County
