Indiana Dunes Horseback Riding
Bring your horse to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and spend a relaxing day meandering through forested dune ridges, prairies and wetlands on the 6.4-mile Glenwood Dunes Trail. This moderate trail has two trail heads and a series of loops. The linear Glenwood Dunes extension will add 1.2 miles.
The trail is open to horseback riders from March 16 through December 14 and is accessible from its own parking lot at the corner of U.S. Highway 20 and Brummitt Road in Chesterton. The area opens daily at 7:00 a.m. and closes 30 minutes past sunset.
