Decorate A Tree

Our 13th year of "A Christmas Story" Comes Home will look a little different in 2020. This year’s exhibit will run from Saturday, November 14, 2020 through Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Our mission with the decorated trees is to promote our area with a focus on visitors and appeal to the hospitality industry. 

Invitations are limited to decorate a tree and will be extended to our SSCVA partners first. The invitation for the remaining trees will then be extended to local non-profits along with local arts/culture organizations. If your organization has been selected to decorate a tree, you will be notified by October 30, 2020.

Trees must be decorated during the following designated times:

• Sunday, November 8 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
• Monday, November 9 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 10 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The South Shore CVA will provide an artificial tree and stand. Your organization will be responsible for all decorations (lights are required). We highly recommend using UL-approved lights to enhance the presentation of your tree. Any type of edible/perishable tree decorations will not be permitted. Tinsel will also not be permitted as it is difficult to remove from the artificial trees. The South Shore CVA reserves the right to remove any decorations it finds inappropriate for the exhibit.

Tree decorations must be removed during the following times: Monday, January 4 - Sunday, January 10 between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Any decorations not removed by 3:00 p.m. on January 10 will be removed by the South Shore CVA. The South Shore CVA will not be responsible for any damage to decorations caused by removal from the tree.
