The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is a sales and marketing organization that leads the hospitality industry and aids its partners through the development and support of attractions throughout the region. 

The South Shore is a centrally located, reasonably priced destination with wide-open spaces, a National Park and activities for all ages. In 2018, visitors spent more than $980 million dollars in Lake County, Indiana on lodging, entertainment, recreation, shopping and food and beverage - stimulating the local economy and providing jobs for thousands of residents.*

Stop by the Indiana Welcome Center if you are visiting the South Shore area or just passing through. 

Created by the Indiana General Assembly in 1983, the Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau (now known as the South Shore CVA) has grown from a staff of two in loaned-out offices to operating out of the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond. The South Shore CVA draws meetings, sporting events and group tours from around the nation, offering an ideal getaway for those traveling within a 250-mile radius.
