Built by one of the founding fathers of the railcar industry, John H. Barker, the Barker Mansion is a distinct and historic site in Michigan City, IN.
The Barker Mansion, built in 1905, is a thirty eight-room house turned museum, which contains original furnishings and art objects and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house, while actually lived in for only a very short time, has brought many years of enjoyment to the Barker family and to the residents of Michigan City. The Barker Mansion is available for rental for special occasions and weddings.
