South Shore Brewery Trail and App

The South Shore offers more than 20 craft breweries - all unique and featuring award-winning brews, tasty food and a number of events. The trail can be accessed from your smart phone by downloading the app in Google Play or the Apple Store. Searching for your closest brewery or by beer categories is easy with the app. Push notifications will let you know who's offering special offerings and events. Bison at the Kankakee Sands

As part of the restoration project with the Nature Conservancy, a small herd of bison have returned to Kankakee Sands in Morocco, Ind. At one time, more than 60 million bison roamed the prairies throughout the nation. Read more about the bison.

 

Moses Addition to the Shrine of Christ's Passion

The new addition of Moses descending Mount Sinai with the Ten Commandments has been added to the collection of bronze figures and stops along the Shrine of Christ's Passion walking journey. To set Moses just right, more than 160 semis filled with boulders and rocks have been laid to create a realistic mountain.

 

"Flick" Statue

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the holiday classic "A Christmas Story," the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority added to their popular annual exhibit, "A Christmas Story" Comes Home. With his tongue forever stuck to a flagpole in front of the Indiana Welcome Center, the Flick statue offers visitors the chance to step into the film's iconic scene. In addition to the new life-size statue, a new window scene, "A Hero's Dream," was commissioned and added to the exhibit's six animatronic window displays.
