Goodland, Indiana
Goodland, located in the southeastern corner of Newton County, was laid out in 1866. The town was given its name because of the high quality of soil in the area.
Goodland is best known for the annual Goodland Grand Prix Festival. Held in late June, this four-day festival is jam-packed with events. The weekend-long event features concerts by several well-known regional entertainers, as well as local DJs. Other events include a street dance, 5K run/walk, grilling competition, parade, garden tractor pull, pie-eating contest, corn hole tournament and fireworks. The festival weekend culminates in Sunday's popular Grand Prix race, which also features a pro super bike exhibition.
Goodland is also home to the annual Goodstock Music Festival, with proceeds going to local veterans.
While you're in town, enjoy the beautiful Foster Park and stop for a delicious meal at Goodland Family Restaurant.
