Please note: A new National Park entrance fee has been added. Learn more here.
Bring your horse to the Indiana Dunes National Park and spend a relaxing day meandering through forested dune ridges, prairies and wetlands on the 6.4-mile Glenwood Dunes Trail. This moderate trail has two trailheads and a series of loops. The linear Glenwood Dunes extension will add 1.2 miles.
The trail is open to horseback riders from March 16 through December 14 and is accessible from its own parking lot at the corner of U.S. Highway 20 and Brummitt Road in Chesterton. The area opens daily at 7:00 a.m. and closes 30 minutes past sunset.
