Masks are required on public transportation, as well as in LaPorte County and on national park and state government properties, both inside buildings and in outdoor spaces where you cannot socially distance. Performance Arts

Arts and culture enthusiasts will appreciate the many opportunities to enjoy the exceptional performance arts that the South Shore offers.

The Center for Visual and Performing Arts' resident theatre, Theatre at the Center, is home to a year-round season of classic American musicals, new plays and comedies. The Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra plays a full season of subscription concerts, in addition to a number of educational outreach initiatives. The historic Memorial Opera House hosts theatre presentations, cabarets, concerts and comedy.

Visitors can enjoy the local talent at one of the region's community theaters, including Towle Community Theater and Chicago Street Theatre.

Whether you prefer live theater, the symphony, comedy or concerts, there is a wide selection of interesting events sure to please along the South Shore.
