The Center for Visual and Performing Arts' resident theatre, Theatre at the Center, is home to a year-round season of classic American musicals, new plays and comedies. The Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra plays a full season of subscription concerts, in addition to a number of educational outreach initiatives. The historic Memorial Opera House hosts theatre presentations, cabarets, concerts and comedy.
Visitors can choose from a variety of performances at Star Plaza Theatre featuring prominent artists or enjoy the local talent at one of the region's community theaters, including Towle Community Theater, Chicago Street Theatre and Crown Point Community Theatre.
