Cedar Lake Summerfest
July 1-4, 2022
Each year, more than 20,000 people attend Cedar Lake Summerfest celebrating the 4th of July holiday on the shores of this beautiful 800-acre lake. This small-town festival has grown over the years, starting in 1981 with only a town-wide picnic.
Today there is a wide variety of activities and programs over the multi-day festival, and more is added every year! Celebrate Independence Day with the town's 4th of July parade. For bakers, each day of the festival features a cupcake contest in which different age groups compete to make the best cupcake in town. If you prefer strategy, test your engineering skills by building a boat for the cardboard boat race. There's also a car show, talent show and a cornhole competition.
The kids will love testing their skills in the candy hunt, bubble gum blowing or bean-spitting contests. Little ones can enter the Super Hero contest and teenagers can join the scavenger hunt just for them.
Summerfest features all the traditional festival action, too. With carnival rides, food vendors, beer garden, live entertainment and fireworks in addition to all the other activities, Cedar Lake Summerfest is a fun event for any age.
