Come see aerial acts perform along the south shore of Lake Michigan at the beautiful Marquette Park during Gary Air Show Weekend! The park is located just outside of the Indiana Dunes National Park.

Marquette Park is the primary Gary Air Show viewing location for attendees and hub for food, vendors and beachfront activities. Residents and visitors will have access to parking and shuttles directly to the lakefront park. Once inside, they will experience stunning aerial performances from regional, national, and international aviators, while enjoying spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the Indiana Dunes.

Gary Air Show FAQ

When is the Gary Air Show Weekend?

The Gary Air Show Weekend takes place August 21–23, 2026. The Drone & Pyro Show is Friday evening, followed by the air show on Saturday and Sunday.

Where is the air show held?

The primary viewing location is Marquette Park, located at 1 N. Grand Blvd. in Gary, Indiana, along the shores of Lake Michigan.

What time does the air show start?

On Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 9:00 a.m. and the flying performances begin at 11:00 a.m.

What time does the Twilight Drone & Pyro Show start?

On Friday, August 21, gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 8:00 p.m.

How much does it cost to attend?

Admission is free. Parking fees apply for those driving to the event.

How much is parking?

On-site parking is available near Marquette Park.
Friday Night Show: $25 per car. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. ($60 for the weekend)
Saturday & Sunday: $40 per day or $60 for the weekend (includes Friday's show).
Credit card  or cash payments accepted.
Parking opens at 6:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Are there alternatives to driving?

Yes. Visitors can use the South Shore Line, GPTC buses, bike parking, and shuttle services to reach the event. More information coming soon.

Will food and beverages be available?

Yes. Food and beverage vendors will be available throughout the event grounds. A complete vendor list can be found here

What radio station broadcasts the show?

The live air show broadcast can be heard on 94.1 FM, and only on an AM/FM scanner radio. 

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Visitors are encouraged to bring water to stay hydrated. Please check the current list of permitted and prohibited items before attending.

Are strollers and wagons allowed?

Yes. Families are welcome to bring strollers and wagons to help transport children and personal items.

Is seating provided?

No. Guests should bring their own lawn chairs, beach chairs, or blankets for comfortable viewing.

What happens if it rains?

The air show is a rain-or-shine event. However, performances may be adjusted, delayed, or canceled if weather conditions create safety concerns for performers or spectators.

Will there be accessible parking and accommodations?

Yes. Accessible parking and accommodations for beach access will be available.

Can I swim during the air show?

Swimming is NOT permitted during the Friday night show.
Swimming will be permitted Saturday and Sunday if beach conditions allow and all beach safety rules are followed.
