Dyer, Indiana

Visitors traveling through Dyer on Lincoln Highway, will be driving down the historic "Ideal Stretch". The Ideal Stretch, the first paved road in Indiana, was part of Carl G. Fisher's vision for a coast-to-coast rock highway which was unheard of in 1912.

Dyer is home to some delicious restaurants. Doc's Smokehouse and Craft Bar uses fresh ingredients and handmade sides. White Rhino Bar and Grill offers entertainment throughout the week. The historic Meyer's Castle, built in the 20th Century, sits on 10 acres of the town's highest ground. Although the castle is privately owned, travelers can visit the Jacobethan Revival architecture at an Argentinean and Brazilian dinner by reservation at Rodizio's Steak House, or host an event or get together on the castle grounds.

Other local favorites in Dyer include expertly made martinis at Vino Tini, delicious ales at The Engine Room, and unique ice cream combinations at Coldstone Creamery.

To kick off summer, Dyer holds their annual Summerfest. The five days of the festival entertain attendees with a movie in the park, carnival rides, tasty food vendors and live entertainment.
